Recent years have witnessed an increasing interest in teacher’s role in intercultural approach to EFL teaching, as well as in Business Studies.
The aim of this conference is to bring together teachers, researchers and practitioners in the field of language and culture teaching methodology to freely communicate ideas, exchange views and share experiences.
This year’s conference is planned to be centrally concerned with intercultural communication in the globalized world. The core idea is to divide the conference into two tracks: Intercultural Communication in Language Teaching and Intercultural Communication in Business.
The Conference is centered around the following subject areas:
I . Intercultural Communication in Language Teaching:
Language learning and culture
Preparation of students to communicate in intercultural context
(e.g. meeting & greeting, forms of address)
Developing intercultural skills – cultural awareness in the language classroom
Raising awareness of cultural diversity (e.g. avoiding cultural gaffe)
II. Intercultural Communication in Business:
Cultural issues in business
Cultural factors in communication – behavior at meetings and negotiations
Business protocol – manners of politeness, body language, dress code, business cards
Communication patterns during meetings
The language of management
Management of cultural diversity – social inclusion
International relations
